Pairs Texas is an alternative hip-hop duo founded in California in 2018. Pairs Texas is a reference to the 1984 movie Pairs, Texas directed by Wim Wenders. The duo uses the pseudonyms Louise Pastel and Felix, keeping their real names unknown.

Louise Pastel and Felix’s most recent single “Cyanide (feat. Cryogeyser)” was their first piece released in 2022. The duo’s alternative rap style is rough with emotion but smooth and quick. Recurring in Paris Texas’ previous works, the hardcore guitar is used in a 3-cord progression and emulates an aggressive emotion filled with passion. A sense of longingness can be felt in the recurring drums during the chorus, as Louise Pastel says, “I think she’s dead inside.” We hope to see more music come out from Paris Texas as they are growing rapidly.
